We are fortunate to have a good range of places to visit; village shops, good quality pubs, historic towns and city, shopping and leisure facilities and even France in under an hour. We are located outside of the village and do not have shops within a reasonable walking distance.


The Rose & Crown

A Beautiful 16th Century Country Pub serving good food.  The Rose & Crown is also a great location for a walk.

The George

The George Inn at Molash is a 15th Century Village Pub serving real ales.  There is a restaurant, bar and garden.

The Woolpack Inn

The Woolpack is a 15th century inn with a wealth of oak beams, a vast inglenook fireplace in the bar plus an excellent local reputation. The Restaurant has been praised by national newspaper food writers on many occasions.


The Historic City of Canterbury

Canterbury has the perfect blend of city, coast and countryside, ensuring that however varied your interests are, you will be spoilt for choice. Herne Bay has a lovely beach with amusements and a roller skating rink on the old pier.  Whilst Whitstable is awash with shops, art galleries and some fantastic seafood restaurants in and around the old fishing harbour.


Nestling in the heart of Kent, Ashford is one of the country’s fastest growing towns in England . With journey times to London by rail now less than 40 minutes and Europe’s cities within hours via Eurostar,  Why not pop across the channel?

Chilham village

Lying high above the valley of the River Stour in the picturesque Kent Downs, the village of Chilham and its medieval square offer a real taste of history, beautifully complemented by some of the finest countryside in the South East.

Chilham Lakes

The Match Lake at Chilham is the nearest lake for day fishing.  Mid Kent Fisheries who operate the lake manage many lakes around the area.  Many of the lakes are less than an hour from Orchard Cottage.
