Lovely caravan in an idyllic location.

"Access is via narrow country lanes but this isn't a problem as there is very little traffic. Ideal base to explore Canterbury and the Kent coastal resorts of Herne Bay, Whitstable, Broadstairs and Ramsgate, which we did during our recent five night stay. If you are looking for a quiet country retreat in a beautiful setting then this is the place for you."

Orchard Cottage is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

"The animals are fun to watch and the welcome warm and friendly. The caravan has everything you need and it feels like home. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, Orchard Cottage is a rare gem."

We really enjoyed our stay with you

"The caravan was lovely and comfortable and set in private and peaceful surroundings. The surrounding area is very pretty and within easy reach of all seaside places. Once again thank you for a lovely holiday and we will definitely stay with you when we re visit Kent. The bed was very comfortable which is not always the case with Holiday Lets."

Stayed for four nights and wish it could have been longer

" The Summer was exactly as advertised and lived up to all the reviews. After a long journey to Kent, we had a warm welcome from Kate and the home made cake was very welcome with a nice cup of tea. There was also a vase of fresh flowers on the table which was a rally nice touch. Great to get up in the morning and watch the rabbits and pheasants together with the sheep. The weather was good but not really warm enough to sit and enjoy the views from the deck however I can imagine it would be super to sit with a drink and enjoy the peace. The caravan was very clean and everything provided for a great stay (would agree with the comment by another person about hooks on the doors but that it is very minor point). All in all we would not hesitate to spend another holiday in this very comfortable caravan in such a beautiful setting."

We certainly enjoyed the stay, just what we wanted

"Lovely quiet location, caravan was excellent, everything you could wish for. It was lovely to see the sunset over the orchard, and the lambs at play were a joy to watch. We certainly would have no hesitation on recommending Orchard Cottage and would stay with you again. Once again thank you"

I have to say I could not have wished for a nicer place to stay

"You are close to both Canterbury and Ashford. We choose to stay in the Everglade it was excellent and had everything we could wish for and more, Kate had even made us a cake and decorated a christmas tree too..... The mobile home is very warm and cosy, with extra bedding and pillows if needed, a full sized cooker, TV and DVD player with DVD's and books there if you want to use them. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you are looking for a quiet getaway."

Despite our late arrival we received a warm welcome

"The homemade cake and bottle of wine which awaited us was a lovely thoughtful touch - much appreciated - thank you. The accommodation was very well equipped and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We loved the peaceful setting and privacy on offer and particularly enjoyed sitting by the 'picture window' watching the birds and animals and the changing light across the orchard and the landscape beyond. We have told my wife's sister's family about it and now they too are keen to stay. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable."

A homely base to explore the beautiful countryside

"Initial reaction was how clean, tidy and well maintained the grounds were, maybe wasn't expecting that considering it was a working small-holding complete with sheep, chickens and two horses. I was warmly welcomed by Kate who extended this welcome with home-made cake and the added touch of flowers in 'The Everglades' mobile home, which was clean, cosy and in very good working order. Throughout my three week stay I never once had any qualms of being a solo traveller - security was well established and I felt that should it be needed help was always there. Overall, I would easily recommend a stay at Orchard Cottage"

We found Orchard Cottage Holidays purely by chance when looking for weekend accommodation for a wedding in the local area.

"From initial contact Kate was extremely helpful and very prompt in getting back to us. 2 days before we arrived we had an email from Kate telling us that there had been a cancellation for the larger of the 2 homes so she would put us in that one giving the three of us more space for the same price-an extremely thoughtful and kind gesture. Orchard Cottage is located in beautiful countryside, feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere yet close to major towns and cities. We arrived to be greeted by a friendly Kate and a lovely homemade lemon drizzle cake as well as a useful welcome pack of goodies. The mobile home was large, clean, nicely decorated and well equipped for any self catering stay. As mentioned the countryside is stunning and the decking in front of the mobile home allowed for us to sit outside and enjoy this. Kate's hospitality continued lending my husband and brother locks for their bikes as well as leaving security lights on for us when we returned late at night from the wedding. Overall we had a fantastic stay in a beautiful location with great accommodation and an extremely welcoming and helpful host-we were only sad we couldn't stay longer but hope to return."

We've just got back from a weekend's break and were so impressed we've already booked again for next month.

"The caravan is well equipped, clean, tidy and in a perfect location. On arrival we found a welcome pack including a home made cake, tea, coffee, milk, a disposable bbq and fresh flowers which was really lovely. Over the weekend husband helped feed the pigs, sheep and horses which made his day. Thank you to Kate and Alan for making our stay such fun."

We will recommend it to our friends.

"From the lovely cake and tea on arrival to the punnet of plums just picked from the tree on the farewell, our stay at the Everglade was perfect. The owners keep everything in superb order from the garden to the paddocks, with the horses and the sheep. A quiet peaceful location, but within easy reach of gardens to visit and Canterbury using the park and ride."

    We didn't want to leave

"If you want a taste of true Kent countryside and hospitality then Orchard Cottage is the place to be. It is in beautiful countryside yet central and convenient to reach so many things to see and do. The static home is so well equipped we needed nothing. With just two homes to rent it guarantees a peaceful holiday. Thanks to Kate for making us feel so welcome."

Thank you so much for making our stay with you a real pleasure

"Your cottage was every clean and comfortable, with everything in it to make our stay simple & relaxing, just what we needed. It was so lovely of you to take Luka our eight year old around to feed the animals, especially feeding Cookie the lamb with his bottle of milk and collecting the fresh eggs. Which by the way we forgot to buy from you! Also your beautiful cake, wow it was so moist and extremely tasty. So we will have to visit you again soon... even if it's just for the cake. Looking forward to our next visit, bye for now. Nick, Alla & luka"

The Philips were a professional and friendly family that made us feel welcome

"We Stayed at orchard cottage in may 2014. There are Two lovely Static Caravan in a Orchard which are very private not over looked with beautiful views. The Caravan was tasteful and modern, clean with all equipment required. There was also a welcome pack of tea, coffee, homemade cakes milk etc. which was lovely to be able to have a cup of tea whilst settling in. We found the local information and attractions useful that they provided in a folder in the caravan. The site is in easy reach for Canterbury and Ashford, it also has a good Railway Station located in Chilham a ten minute drive away that we used for a day trip to sightsee in London."

    Thank you,

"Having stayed at Orchard Cottage a few times in our motorhome on the way to use the Channel Tunnel, we have always been impressed by the beauty and tranquillity of the orchard. So, when we heard about the arrival of their two mobile homes, we were eager to stay and use our car to explore this unknown (to us) area of Kent. The internal décor of the mobile home we stayed in (The Everglade) was light, bright and airy, finished to an excellent standard with fully equipped modern appliances and fittings. Everything was provided to help us feel comfortable and relaxed and at home during our weeks stay. The restful interior of the mobile home complemented the delightful views over the orchard, which looked even more beautiful with the early evening sun shining through the apple blossom. There were sheep grazing, with one, to our surprise, giving birth early one morning. The presence of sheep, new lambs, pigs, horses and chickens (as well as the cat, Pepper) all added to the charm of Orchard Cottage as did the owners, who have worked long and hard to achieve such an oasis of calm. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Orchard Cottage, not only as an ideal base to explore East Kent, but also because of its quiet and peaceful situation and surroundings which make it the perfect place to relax and escape from the noise and stresses of modern life."

This is a great place for those looking for a peaceful holiday in unspoilt rural surroundings

"We walked from Harrietsham mainly along the Pilgrims and North Downs way before arriving at Shottenden. We weren't too sure what to expect but found the site spotlessly clean and delightful. There are only two mobile homes, one that sleeps 3 and one that sleeps 4, in a very pleasant paddock type grassed area. The mobile home was both spacious and immaculate, fresh milk in the fridge, plenty of tea and coffee and a vase of daffodils were most welcome. As it was March we didn't use the outside table and raised decking much, but it would be lovely in summer but instead did enjoy the central heating. The Rose and Crown, good food and beer, is about a mile walk away first along the quiet road and then a good footpath through an orchard. A minor detour leads to the carved pulpit with far reaching views. "

    We had a wonderful week

"Kate, the host, was friendly and helpful, with advise on the local area. She provided flowers, milk and a scrumptious jam sponge on arrival. The van was attractive, comfortable and well equipped, even a table, chairs and parasol on the decking area. There are sheep, pigs, chickens and horses on site which you can feed with the owner. The area is perfect for walkers and cyclists. We had some amazing and varied walks through beautiful woods and countryside with stunning views across Kent. Be prepared for some steep uphill climbs! Only 8 miles from Canterbury, Ashford and Faversham if you want to visit. We will definitely be staying again."
